The problem is that 'away' may be away from where we are currently living however the plastic from all those toothbrushes will never really go away - not in our lifetime, nor that of our children. The amazing growth and self-renewing ability of bamboo means that deforestation is not necessary either. The packaging is paper and card which can be put out with your paper recycling or you can safely throw the whole lot into your compost where both the brush and packaging will decompose.
