Alpargatas is a Model company in Argentina, where working conditions and wages are all in accordance to Argentinian law and labour agreements. Alpargatas are now in their 3rd century of production, but they still manage to maintain the same traditional methods of manufacturing with the involvement of unchanged hand made techniques.
SIZES - PLEASE NOTE: U.S sizes = Mens, European sizes = Unisex. *Most people tend to go down one size, as they are made of fabric with no padding.
*Jute is a natural fibre obtained from the bark of the jute plant. It is a long, soft shiny vegetable fibre that can be spun into coarse, strong threads.
Jute fibres are composed primarily of the plant material, cellulose (a major component of plant fibre) and lignin (a major component of wood fibre), It is thus a lingo-celluloise fibre that is partially a textile and partially wood.
JUTE FIBRE IS 100% BIO-DEGRADABLE, RECYCLABLE AND ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY.
IT IS THE SECOND MOST USED VEGETABLE FIBRE AFTER COTTON.
IT HAS HIGH TENSILE STRENGTH, LOW EXTENSIBILITY AND ENSURES BETTER BREATHABILITY.
ADVANTAGES OF JUTE INCLUDE GOOD INSULATING AND ANTISTATIC PROPERTIES, AS WELL AS HAVING LOW THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY.
