Product Description
The founders of Kiwireco wanted some native birds around their new property so they planted a host of trees around the boundary but found no satisfactory strapping that would work.
They wanted something that lasted, so durability was the key to protecting their valuable trees.
It had to be environmentally friendly, so Kiwi-re-co (recycling company ) was born.
They found some plastic from recycled swimming pools and got it extruded into strapping onto reels made from recycled refrigerator liners.
They started an organic vegetable garden and were delighted to be able to use the smaller stakes and ties without fear of contaminating the soil with the chemicals copper, chromium and arsenic used to preserve wooden stakes.
They were used for tomatoes, beans and peas as well as supporting grape vines and branches on heavily laden fruit trees .
Kiwireco packaging is deliberately minimalist with no wrapping and a few labels only where needed to show how to use the product.
